Jelena Anđelovski: Homeland, Rage Machine

Literary evening: Homeland, Rage Machine – Jelena Anđelovski (Serbia)

Homeland, Rage Machine, Akademie Schloss Solitude, 2013

Author: Jelena Anđelovski
Design: Škart, Beograd

Homeland, Rage Machine is a bi-lingual poetry collection by Jelena Anđelovski from Serbia, written in Sebian and English. It consists of two thematic parts, including a new concept of cross-poetry, which is a textual experiment of the textual montage based on a surrealistic textual collage. Cross-poetry form, a social idea of the circulation of texst, and an emphasis on the subjective experiences of words, clearly communicate the central idea of the collection: namely, communication with everybody and everything. Because the red thread of the collection is connectedness, the presentation of the collection will combine both visual and acoustic media: the artists and activists have created an audio-video product based on the poems from the collection.

Jelena Anđelovski (Sebia) holds a BA in dramaturgy from the Academy of Arts, Novi Sad. Since 2003, she has been active in various independent and feminist initiatives and groups. She also worked as a counsellor with women who have experienced violence. Since 2005, she has been active in the lesbian organization NLO from Novi Sad. For several years she was organizing poetry readings in Poetry in the House (Poezija u kući). She is responsible for the program of MaTerra Mesta (Terra film production). Her poetry collection Home, Rage Machine (Akademie Schloss Solitude, 2013) is a cross-poetry textual experiment, a new type of the textual montage.

The event will be in Serbian and English.
