Workshop – Experience of violence because I am a woman/lesbian/queer/trans…: Arundi Spasojević (SRB) and Sandra Arsovska (MK) At the workshop, we will look into our experiences of violence and social conditioning of our traumatic experiences, we will share our thoughts on experiences of this kind, and think about how we carry on living with them. We will also examine what can be learned from those experiences and how we can increase our self-confidence, which has been continuously diminished by hetero-patriarchy.

Workshop participants will help with building the rules of trust and active listening, as that is the only way to create a safe space for exposing our own experiences in connection to the chosen topic. At the end of the workshop, we will summarize our topics in the context of social/patriarchal system (personal is political), as well as in the context of the principles of emotional literacy to help us learn about ourselves, others and the society in which we live.
These experiential workshops are based on the principles of feminist consciousness raising groups. Duration: 1.5-3h.
Arundi Spasojević is a radical feminist lesbian. She has been working for three years now in Konsultacije za lezbejke as a counselor for e-mail consultation, she has also volunteered in Autonomni ženski centar Belgrade. As an activist she has been working in video-editing and recording lesbian manifestations. She has been active in the feminist movement, the movement against the violence against women, the movements against war, fascism and lesbofobia.

Sandra Arsovska is a feminist lesbian. In Skopje, she was active in the gay and lesbian organization Masso, then the feminist lesbian organization Ženska Alijansa. In Novi Sad, she worked at Novosadska lezbejska organizacija NLO, in Belgrade with the radical feminist organization Amazonke who fight against sexual violence. She pays a special attention to defending the abolition of discrimination against lesbians with physical or mental disabilities.
