Workshop: A play for scenic artists from the area of performative arts
Thursday, 6th March 2014, 12.00–15.00
Friday, 7th March 2014, 12.00–15.00
Saturday, 8th March 2014, 12.00-15.00
The workshop is for all performers and/or dancers, who employ the body as a means of communication with the public.
The theatrical acting methods are a way of improving the communication of the performer with the public and creating the feeling of authenticity, which are all necessary for the creative process and labour. At the workshop, we will be dealing with artistic ethics and developing the culture of the public performance, as well as practising the awareness of the individual inside a group and the individual’s responsibility towards the group.
The workshop will be conducted by Ana Takać, who has been using the theatrical and acting methods by Michael Chekhov, Konstantin Sergejević and Lee Strassberg. Through an intensive physical and theoretical part, you will become familiar with the methods, which you will then employ for your own specific purposes, that is, for your own performance.
Both individuals and groups are invited to attend the program. Our aim is to awaken the creative self and enjoy while doing that, free from all common sense roles of the daily life. We are striving towards empathy for ourselves, others, and the character.
Self-confidence and self-respect, certainty in the public performance, the ability of verbal and non-verbal expressiveness, the feeling for mutual co-operation, an emotional attitude, and the discovery of acting talent are all important factors and conditions for a creative scenic work.
The workshop will be in Croatian and English.
