Guided tour of the Gesamtkunstwerk Metelkova

You are invited to a guided tour of the Gesamtkunstwerk Metelkova, which will take place as part of the festival events of the International Feminist and Queer Festival Red Dawns.

The Gesamtkunstwerk Metelkova has been constantly transforming since 2004 through more than 200 public art interventions. Its image is never finished, but grows from the creative initiatives of the community and domestic and international artists. The tour will focus specifically on artworks created by female artists whose murals on Metelkova reveal how power, tradition and social norms are inscribed in bodies, borders and everyday life – from state violence, migration and war to the control of women’s bodies and sexuality.

The tour will be led by Nataša Serec, a curator and producer who works in the field of public space, participatory art practices and community-oriented projects. Since 2004, she has been curating the Gesamtkunstwerk Metelkova, a long-term art project in the public space of ACC Metelkova mesto, and actively participates in its development, documentation and interpretation.
