NONHUMANS explores bureaucratic mechanisms of exclusion that operate not through direct rejection, but through negation – the gradual erasure of the individual from their own existence. The performance reveals the way in which the system does not oppose, but empties, does not expel but suspends, and does not deny, but conditions. Through several phases, the artist’s body moves through the processes of verification, categorization, and dehumanization experienced by those whose belonging is measured conditionally. Documents become more real than the body, boundaries more tangible than the path of movement, and rules more permanent than existence itself. Naash.x does not reject these structures but rather takes them to the end – to the point where their artificial logic is revealed as absurd. Through her own body, she exposes bureaucracy as a means of control, where identity is not something an individual possesses, but something that can be taken away from her. NONHUMANS is not a conflict, but a gradual disintegration – not a fight for a place in the system, but a confrontation with the emptiness that this system produces. Performance is thus not a rebellion, but a revelation: how to become absent before you even exist. NONHUMANS works through negation – the subject is not other, but non-existence in a structure that simultaneously recognizes and erases it. Hristijan Nashulovski (2004) from Bitola lives and works in Ljubljana, where he studies fashion and textile design at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology. He is interested in the fluid nature of the intertwining of visual art, textiles, movement, fashion and performance. In doing so, he explores bodies and all their possible forms. He has worked as a costume designer for three shows and presented three independent collections. With his work “RUINS” he was awarded the title of the youngest independent designer and presented it at the Skopje Fashion Weekend. He recently collaborated as a performer and costume designer for Trans(Myth) Me Baby One More Time, by artist Cat Jugravu. In 2023, he presented a textile installation entitled After All at the group exhibition Below Zero at the Marko Cepenkov Gallery (Prilep).
