Concert Dawns x FriForma: Tizia Zimmermann and Pablo Lienhard (CH)

A duo consisting of Pablo Lienhard on electronic devices and Zurich accordionist Tizia Zimmermann. Over the years, they have developed a very finely tuned way of playing and combining sounds. At their performance, the audience is often surprised by the psychoacoustic effects that are triggered and the fact that it is sometimes impossible to distinguish the sound of one from the sound produced by the other. Their first album, Kaputt, was released on Wide Ear Records in 2021 on vinyl and digital.

The event has been organized under the FriForma events and the ON Rizom Institute.

Tizia Zimmermann is a musician active in the field of free improvisation and experimental noise and in the field of interpretation of contemporary classical music. In 2018, she graduated in classical accordion at the Hochschule der Künste in Bern. In 2020, she also got her master’s degree there in the Department of Performance Art. As part of his interest in contemporary improvisation, he is part of various platforms, such as the Gamut Collective from Zurich. She participated in the performance of “Winterreise” by Hans Zender under the conductor Emilio Pomàric and “Die Odyssee” by Leonard Evers under the conductor Eduard Strausser at the Opera House in Zurich.

Pablo Ulises Lienhard is an improviser and sound artist. In various contexts, he can regularly be found on the saxophone, at the mixing desk (no input), on pedals with effects or computers – less often, but also in the selection of music that people can dance to.
