Over the past decade and a half Mary Ocher has been persistently creating passionate, uncompromising work, raw, thought-provoking, socially and creatively pushing against the current, dealing with subjects of authority, identity and conflict. Her work is as enchanting as it is polarizing, ranging from traditional folk and raw 60s garage to ambient with ethereal vocals and abstract synths and experimental pop.

“The West…” was released on H.J. Irmler’s label Klangbad (of Krautrock pioneers Faust). feat. collaborations with elusive legends Die Tödliche Doris and Felix Kubin and an essay elaborating on the themes of the album and analyzing the current sociopolitical climate.

Indie-rock / post-punk band Lelee, which embodies multicultural connections between Balkan musicians from the Vardar to Triglav, consists of Jelena Rusjan (Borghesia, TRUS!) From Belgrade on vocals and bass, Macedonian Damjan Manevski (Rush to Relax Molokai) on vocals and guitar, and local drummer Jan Kmet (balance, Kalu) and synth mag Blaž Gracar (Blaž).

Lelee are masters of melodious indie songwriting with a sense of pop accessibility, who easily serve quick-to-remember choruses and cheerful, sometimes nostalgic, and sometimes even fierce melodies tailored for long highway escapades and summer wanderings.

You could say that Lelee is a kind of imaginary Adriatic indie rock, which is emotional, honest, and direct, but above all, it is also adapted to mid-range radio frequencies and a wider audience.
