Affinità Libertarie is an anarchist collective that has always put anti-sexism among its fundamental principles, along with antifascism, antiracism and antiauthoritarianism.
Rejecting any form of authoritarianism and hierarchy and putting into practice the use of consent during decision-making processes are the main principles of anarchism and self-management; these are also the bases on which they have built their workshop: it is an important moment of self-formation that can be a starting point in dismantling rape culture. This workshop wants to face the problem at its source by analysing and recognizing what consent is and by questioning our daily behaviour.
Affinità Libertarie considers this process of self-criticism as a tool for growth: they want to give everyone an opportunity to talk about sexist violence and their experiences in a non-judgmental safe space, where everybody is free to choose how to participate
and express themselves by sharing, commenting, or just listening. To create a safe space, they ask every participant to avoid aggressive, violent or judgmental communication, so that people can feel comfortable and encouraged to contribute.
