It seems entirely appropriate that the 18th International Red Dawns festival is officially opened by the generation that was born at the time of the festival’s beginnings. Poems of the Four … is a theatre enactment of poems written by four contemporary Slovene female poets, namely: Barbara Korun, Taja Kramberger, Katja Perat and Jana Putrle Srdić. The poems will be staged by students of drama and theatre from Secondary Preschool Education and Gimnazija Ljubljana. According to the director of the performance, Mojca Dimec, “without the three dots, the title Poems of the Four … connects us with the ground-breaking collection of Slovenian poetry, which was written in 1953 / … / and which paved the way for intimism in modern poetry. This drew attention to an individual’s reflexion of the meaning of important life questions. The three dots, on the other hand, are a separator, which – when used as a sign of release and as a part of the title – draws attention to several things. At least to the omission, to  something that is omitted, missing, non-existent, which is the fact female authors and their literary creativity have been facing for a very long time.

Poems of the Four … are performed by students of second, third and fourth year of Secondary Preschool Education and Gimnazija Ljubljana, drama-theatre programme course:
