A Decent Life  (Pristojan život) – Lesbian Short Stories from former-Yugoslav Countries, ed. Dragoslava Barzut (SRB)

How does one define the post-Yugo-Slovenian lesbian literature? Join this panel of lesbian literature authors to discuss the lesbian characteristics of the post-Yugo-Slovenian literature context, and see if there is a connection between activism and literature. In all of  the Yugo-Slovenian diversity, can one speak of a common lesbian sensibility that the region‘s authors share?
The aim of this regional collection of lesbian short stories is to promote the female writers through a topic that is current and that,  in this environment, would contribute to a better understanding of LGBT people and the problems they face.
21 authors from Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Slovenia are represented in this regional collection of lesbian short stories. Given that, on the regional level, similar collections have not yet been published. After all, this regional collection of lesbian short stories would have a textbook character. With  this anthology we would encompass female creativity in the region on the subject of lesbian relationships.

Dragoslava Barzut (1984, Belgrade) is a writer, performer and blogger. She won the first award for her short story “The last hour is the longest, plus bonus track” at the short story festival “Odakle zovem”. That story has also been placed in the regional anthology “Out of corridor – the best short story 2011.” She published a collection of short stories “Zlatni metak” (The golden bullet) – “Đuro Đukanov” award for the best manuscript 2011. Dragoslava is a editor of Labris magazin (organization for lesbian human rights) and she writes column on the Labris web portal. She writes blog on the webpage http://www.odmotavanje.com That blog deals with the issues of women and the regional literary scene.
