Selena Savić: Solar /ETC: Two-day workshop: Selena Savić (SRB/CH): The Solar Workshop Red Dawns and Kiberpipa present Eclectic Tech Carnival 2012
Two-day workshopSelena Savić (SRB/CH): The Solar WorkshopThe workshop is a place for experimentation and the manufacturing of solar cells. Using different materials like broken glass, berries and titanium dioxide, we are going to build DIY solar cells that can produce a voltage of 0.4 volts each. We will test the capacity of these cells by connecting them together and powering simple devices. Having an independent source of energy allows for these devices to work without maintenance, which makes them ideal for usage in public space. In English and Serbian. Open to all women and trans-identified people. No participation fee. Please, apply to: rz.delavnica@gmail.com (Subject: Solar Workshop). Selena Savić (SRB/CH) is an artist and architect from Belgrade, currently living and working in Lausanne, Switzerland. Selena graduated at the Faculty of Architecture in Belgrade and the Media Design department of the Piet Zwart Institute in Rotterdam. Since September 2011, she has been working on her doctoral research at the Federal Technical Institute in Lausanne, Switzerland (EPFL) and Technical Institute in Lisbon, Portugal (IST). Besides architecture, Selena Savić actively pursues a critical media practice, treating the questions of the city, media and systems in general.
