Vanja Bučan (The Netherlands):

The Invincible City

March 8th-11th, from 20.30 to midnight.

Vanja Bučan belongs to the new wave of contemporary photography. Her career is strongly oriented towards the international arena. She completed her studies at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in the Hague where she made several photographic series. At the festival, she will be premiering her series The Invincible City, which addresses the urban ‘condition humaine’ and stands at the crossroads of documentary and professionally polished art photography.

Vanja Bučan has attracted public attention with the Drugo nadstropje (The Second Floor) project (1^st Prize in the Art Photograph of the Year competition organised by Emzin, Slovenia) and participated in group exhibitions such as Photonic Moments and Luminatic – New Slovene Photography with a selection from her series Rebecca’s Daydream.
