Cabaret

Subkomite (Slovenia):

The final cabaret or how six or five women found themselves in a joint called La Flor Parda, what they did there and how they left

A story of rebellion in all forms presented in nine songs, one tango and six languages. The scene takes place in the last years of the Spanish Civil War, in the besieged city of Madrid, in a joint owned by the Mexican anarchist Alcatraz, where a group of outcasts from all over Europe and one single lion tamer turn up. The author of the song, along with all other Subkomite members – Maja Pan, Pashalina Pop Gligorova, Polona Glavan and Zvonka Krebelj – refers to the universalism of a rebellious spirit and the  uncelebrated dignity of a beaten individual; of course, in the richest style of dark cabaret. The Subkomite is accompanied by Luka Ropret as the bearded lady and Matjaž Pikalo as the lion tamer, as well as Denis Androič (trumpet), Boštjan Benčič (double bass) and Maruša Jenič (violin).

The event in Menza pri koritu si going to be followed by Le wHORe’s concert at 22.00 and by DJ collective Zbeletron’s party at 22.30.

Entrance fee for Subkomite, Le wHORe and Zbeletron: 5 €
