Transfusion – Night of Lesbian Vampires

Andrea Weiss: Vampirke in vijolice – lezbijke v filmu (Vampires and Violets – Lesbians in Film)

The original book by Andrea Weiss was published in 1992. The Slovene translation by Nataša Velikonja was released in 2010 by ŠKUC Vizibilija. The work represents a thorough analysis of the presence of lesbians in American and European cinematography from its beginnings, from the first encoded images depicting women’s homoerotics, to the 1990’s.

Andrea Weiss is an internationally acclaimed filmmaker, producer and theorist. She has co-directed lesbian documentaries such as Paris Was a Woman, Tiny & Ruby and Before Stonewall.

The book will be presented by vampires Zala & Urška (in Slovene).
