Sanja M. Bojanić (SRB/FR): Care through a Queer Lens

To what extent is the ethics of care complementary with queer theory? Is it possible to find a point of intersection between them? In case it is, what would be its result? What is the scope of positive normativity like, and to what extent does it threaten queer subversity?

Is it possible to de-ethicise, or de-moralise care? Is it possible to determine the expiration date of subversity? Questions like these open up the corruptive spaces of both approaches. The lecture will, simultaneously, aim to question the transgressive forms of the norm as well as stay faithful to queer theory.

Sanja M. Bojanić works at the Centre for ethics, law and comparative philosophy at the University of Belgrade. She studied acting, media and culture at the University of Rijeka. She obtained her PhD at the University Pariz 9 (Le Centre d’études féminines et d’études de genre) from the practices and theories of the senses. She has been lecturing at the University Paris 9, Aberdeen University (Scotland), St Mary’s University (London). She is interested in gender and queer studies, the philosophy of sexuality, and the translation theory.
