Danijela Zajc: Threads

Niti (Threads) by Danijela Zajc is the beginning of a longer artistic exploration of a life imbued with patriarchy and peasant life. It is a work that addresses the often overlooked women and their position on the farm. The author draws the content from her own experience of living in a traditional environment. Through the play, she tries to understand the life and work of her grandmothers, mothers and sisters, simultaneously exploring her own place in those relations. The author narrates the content in a performative and experimental way through aerial acrobatics on ropes.

The play is an attempt at homage, criticism, understanding and acceptance. It is searching for correlations with one’s own life and creation.
