Roza Luxemburg

was a woman from the beginning of the 20th century who did not have the right to vote and walked around in a long skirt. Roza Luxemburg was a doctor and political activist who can still be an inspiration to us today with her anti-war and transnational views and defense of humanist values.

ROZA is a play by Nuša Komplet Peperko, Urška Majcen and Nuša Ofentavšek

The performance, which jumps between a narrative performance, author’s scenes and musical elements, sets the historical figure of the activist Rosa Luxemburg against the social reality of today.

ROZA is the third performance of the female storytelling collective BODICE, which operates within the Celje Art Quarter. In her work, Bodice avoids autobiographical information, avoids both feminist saints and straight-line heroines, and always subtly solves a world full of difficult compromises and internal conflicts. Their work is never just inspirational porn. In the first storytelling performance, THE SAME BREATH, they focused on female characters in folk tales, while in the second, NOT EVERYTHING AND NOT FOR EVERYONE, they focused on more or less well-known and true stories of women.
