The multi-character Futraj moj ego from 2019 got its logical sequel four years later. Anja Bezlova, who has been wandering around domestic and European street festivals for many years as a member of various theater groups, in the meantime created an intimate image of her world, and with the stimuli that surround her, once again “fur” her ego.

The continuation of the ignored debut, in which Bezlova, as befits a multi-character, used all her characters living at the time, is built similarly, but with an important difference. Everything that was predicted in the first part actually happened. Anjina Majda from Mengš, the character of an aggressive peace woman who at that time collected signatures for the prohibition of war, has now experienced the war. More than 500 real signatures were not enough to stop the wave of nonsense we are witnessing today. Meanwhile, Rose the Clown is gone, GA-GA Sugardaddy is no longer in prison, and Alfa has no problem selling his arsenal of weapons.

All the problematization of militarization, the objectification of the female body, everything that the first part dealt with, it was all clearly for naught. In just a few years, the world has become a fun, shiny ball for us too, intertwined with musical hits, reference texts, tailored history and a clear but cruel future.

That is why the new Futraj moj ego is a show that could not have been created earlier than just now. It is a show that pushes away while it embraces and loves while it shatters. It is a performance where Anja sets up monuments on stage, the kind that would never have been there otherwise.
