Violence in the Queer Community Violence in the Queer Community Tuesday, 3 March at 6 p.m.
Project Room – SCCA Ljubljana, ACC Metelkova mesto, 1000 Ljubljana
Talk In Slovene Free admission, voluntary contributions will be collected Violence in the Queer Community Queer people can often experience systemic oppression and interpersonal violence from the majority cis and heteronormative society, but this does not mean that violence does not also occur within the community. We will open a conversation about violence in the queer community or on the scene (scenes?). First of all, we will ask ourselves what forms of violence we receive and/or perpetrate on queer people. We will then explain how dominant narratives about the occurrence of (sexual) violence have a blind spot for queer people and try to find possible ways to deal with violent behavior. Our message is: If we want to build a community, we must know how to build interpersonal relationships. Participants: Petra Bolta, Nuka Horvat, Ula Krajnc Kušlan, Lana Križaj, Nik Kidrič Info Organisation: 27th International Feminist and Queer Festival Red Dawn (Arts and Culture Association KUD Mreža) Coproduction: Zavod Utopija Coorganisation: SCCA – Ljubljana Graphic Design: Janu Krohm Media Contacts: Saša Nemec, rdece.zore@gmail.com Financial Support: The Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia, the City Municipality of Ljubljana – Department of Culture |
