Janu Krohm (DE): Tender Shapes

The exhibition at the Night Window Display Gallery Pešak will feature a multidisciplinary artist Petry, who will present the project Tender Shapes, which emerges from the exploration of wax as a material of transformation. In her work, the artist interweaves digital media, sound and visual art, focusing on emotional and bodily states of transition. Through the use of distortion, repetition and abstraction, she examines relationships between intimacy, discomfort, identity and instability.

In the Tender Shapes series, amorphous, bodily, wax-like forms elude clear definition. Illuminated by the nocturnal light of the shop window, they reveal themselves as fluid structures that oscillate between the erotic and the repulsive, softness and tension. Through the material process of melting and solidifying, the artist opens up a space for reflection on corporeality and queer pleasure as something unstable, mutable and continuously re-formed.

The exhibition will be on display, exceptionally, in front of the Alkatraz Gallery and open until 20 April.
