Abolitionist workshop

As part of the already traditional Red Dawn brunch, we invite you to a mini workshop exploring the intersection of feminist, queer, and abolitionist movements.

What does abolitionism mean? How do these ideas connect to feminist and queer perspectives? How is abolitionism understood in the Slovenian context? Where do the ideas of safety and protection extend to? What does abolitionist organising and action entail?

We will look at examples of major campaigns rooted in abolitionist principles and work together to find answers to these complex questions.

Although abolitionism is often perceived as a concept specific to the Anglo-Saxon context, we will explore its relevance in Slovenia. We will also present a mini abolitionist library –  overview of some inspiring abolitionist literature.
