Miona Babić aka Deseirdeeler is a composer and pianist, who has been living and working in Italy for the past ten years. She was born in Belgrade in 1973, where she also graduated in piano and jazz singing. After leaving Serbia and moving to the so-called Mitteleuropa in 1990’s, the classically trained concert pianist focused exclusively on classical music. The turning point came in 2000, when her solo theatre project One Girl Show was successfully launched in Teatro Miela in Trieste. Since then, Deseirdeeler continuously performs an array of genres, from jazz to French chanson and plays in several instrumental ethno/free outfits as a vocalist and/or keyboardist. However, classical music remains the foundation of her life and music in general.. In 2007 she introduced a cycle of her own songs, No Trumpet Songs, where she collaborated with some of the top musicians from former Yugoslavia, namely with drummer and percussionist Dušan Đukić (Pop mašina), saxophonist Dušan Petrović (Plejboj, Dvojac bez kormilara), guitarist Piti (Goribor) and drummer Marco Quarantotto (Danilo Jurković, Jino Touche, Goribor, Miro, Jiandri).
