Pod vodo (Underwater) is a project by Alenka Marinič and Maja Dekleva Lapajne who share the key phases of their artistic collaborations and a close friendship, but also the structural position in which they find themselves as artists: being a part of a middle-aged generation that eluded the old guaranteed social benefits as well as belonging to a category of “young artists”, mothers of young children, self-employed artists, precarious workers, members of a vanishing or rather “downward slipping” middle-class, women. Pod vodo is a playful mashup of a concert and a theatre piece, which addresses feelings of repression, precarity and entrapment in neoliberal relations. On the other hand the artists seek new spaces where different types of relationships can still live and thrive. Pod vodo is a humorous stage piece which reflects on where we are and where we can go in search of recluse.

Maja Dekleva Lapajne and Alenka Marinič are long-term collaborators under the wing of Kolektiv Narobov theatre. They are artists in the field of performative arts with an emphasis on improvisation, clown performance and physical theatre.
